IstBarP you know it might also be useful to denote what type of cooling each person is using. air/h2o/tec/ln2 Im just thinking that 5.0+ on air is alittle bit more impressive then say LN2.

thats correct.. but again.. you can get air coolers that cools just as much as lets say a H70 and so on.. dunno about H100 since i havn't seen temps from that yet :)..

but maybe i should include that.. don't think any in here used LN2 yet :)..

about the evga member name this was intended for another forum where my name is just MatroX but b/c of MatroX is not available on the evga forum it's IceMatroX here. if you really need IceMatroX in there i will run it again after i get my Evga p67 FTW board.

pretty nice overclock!!! :).. 5.5 ghz is indeed pretty good!!.. even on water! :) and 5.4 ghz is even more impressive since air cooling! :)

that size was okay, but really, the requirements to enter was 15 min of linx! ..

it is okay with the name though.. but since you make a new one anyways you might as well put in the evga forum name

depends on what you are doing actually.. for video encoding and decoding, it is pretty nice actually!!! .. it runs way faster!..

A very cool thread!!  I wont be joining it sadly but I would just like to share this result below:

My friend and I doing tests with my 759 + 920 D0 and a single stage :)  I think it would go more but need some better cooling than that :)
I have a few more screen shots of it past 5Ghz, I'll try and dig them out :)

Thank you :) I couldn't quite match your awesome chip, I simply maxed the temps when trying for 5,1. had to go to a vcore of 1,5v to get it bootable, but then temps rose quite high, and I chickened out :P

btw, I forgot to tell my vcore on the 4,99Ghz clock. that was at 1,450v in the bios.

thanks! :).. i guess it is a bit awesome, but still quite high temps! :P.. i can easily get it 5.2 bootable, and even run windows, but linx will get me above 90 degrees celcius! :/.. and when it got to 90 i turned off computer,, won't go that far!  :)

hehe, My just BSOD whenever I stayed above 91c :P which is nice. It's good to now the safety features work correctly.
This overclocking and benchmarking is dangerous. I didn't think I would got as caught in it as I am. In the P67 subforum, warlord420 had this to say about overclocking:

warlord420
follow these steps:
I) OVERCLOCK,
hit barrier/freak out from temps

II) Get better cooling
OVERCLOCK

(hit the barrier)
CRY yourself to sleep

And it is so true

Well I am running mine at 5ghz no problem guess I am going to have to rebench with Linx as I don't use that and make a notepad screenshot.  Check my signature and 3Dmark11 till I have some time to run Linx.  Glad you made this club.

Very very nice OC's I'm jealous,  I don't think there is anyway my Phenom II X6 1100T BE will make that kind of an OC lol.  3.3GHz stock but i'm only running Asetek 510 LC for cooling (for now) but definately a great thread and a lot of good reads.

Once I get off of work I will go home and try for 5Ghz, I'm at a stable 4.8Ghz right now but my VCore is at 1.4v.... Temps are starting to hit 80 C.... The only way I'm doing this is if I get something cool to put in my signature like all the X58 guys do!

Looks good.
I suggest having people run the AVX version of LinX since the normal LinX doens't cut it anymore. The normal LinX doesn't fully stress the SB platform like Prime95 or LinX with AVX.
