Just got my E762 but the Chipset cooler is totally bent!

Just check out these pictures i made:

I even have to give the screwdriver an angle to reach the middle case screw!

Is this normal? It doesn't look that way on the official pics....

This is normal, My 4 way SLI Classy was the exact same way... its so you can mount a large Heatsink without hitting the northbridge cooler. So no worries its all good.

Its like I said It was Purposely Designed to have the Northbridge cooler bent so you can fit larger CPU heatsinks on the board with out hitting or having to cut down the heatsink to make it fit.

    Heres some pics of mine...

Mine is too blend  so i think it is normally. It is very strange all motherboards are bad cooler mounted. With this position it is able to mount a big cooler on the cpu

Mine's "bent" too (tho coming off for the water block soon). True fits easily w/ many mm's of clearance.

Haha very interesting. At least that seems how it is supposed to be. Nothing to complain about there, it even gives more room for heatsinks now. That was one of the minor complaints for sure.

Hmmm very strange indeed jonksss.... maybe a last minute change or something? Or maybe a bunch of curiously bent at the same angle heatsinks...... perhaps a sales rep should be notified and asked so we can get a definitive answer.

It should be so easy for someone at EVGA to give an official word on this even if the assumptions are right, kind of makes me wonder why they have not already.

It could be a design fault with the box which is bending th heatsink and why they all appear to be bent and bent the same angle.

Could someone go look at the box it came in and see if the "ridge" in the cardoard covering presses on the heatsink when its in place properly? I am not sure if this would be possible without ripping the side off the box but maybe lifitng it slightly would allow you to see enough.   I doubt there would be enough pressure to bend it and its more than likely part of the design but as i said before why cant EVGA just say that?

No it is not normal to be bent, it appears that some of the coolers are getting bent during shipment, we have already made improvements in the last shipment.

If you received a bent cooler there are a few ways to get this corrected:

    1. You can bend it back carefully.
    2. Contact us directly for a replacement.

tombman, sorry to see that and like it was mentioned before there is no way that NB/HS should look like that. This has been going on since the Classified came out ( I think March 2009). WOW!!! I can't believe they still have not figured something out .

Your NB/HS is bent pretty good, so just be careful if you try to bend it back. They are not that strong. I have straighten a few. I think the best way is to pull the NB/HS off the board and lay it on a flat surface and go form there, again be very careful.

IMO you paid top dollar, even if you water cool or not I would..........I'll stop there. If you do send it back I hope it goes better then mine and this was when the 759 came out and yes they said the same thing then, There are making improvements.........

(in link) I was pretty pissed off and as you can tell it still stings.......

Mine is slightly bent downwards towards the PCI Express slots as well...probably about an 80 degree angle instead of a 90.

Don't think I will RMA the damn thing though, it has been working fine so far and does not seem like it suffered a catastrophic bend.  Im overclocked to just over 4.0GHz and I cant roast marshmallows on it yet...

Mine was pretty much straight. It had a very slight lean to it, but nothing even close to the pictures posted of the 45 degree ones.
