Only been doing this about a month, so bear with me

System:  Q6600, 450gts, 2 8800gtx, win 7 64bit, home version. no overclocks, 4 1gb ram, 680i SLI. beta nvidia drivers. 450 is main display.  Not using the cpu for folding, as I read the cards need one core each.

trying to run FAH GPU tracker v2, latest edition.  Both 8800s start right up using dongles (or whatever they're called).  450 says it's needs the latest driver, etc..  It works fine if I use [link=mailto:F@H]F@H[/link] gpu 3.  (but goes to sleep if the display is minimized?)  Have tried the gpu3 client on and off (read that the fermi's need it on).  Have tried all the options I can think of.  Have tried reinstalling.  New windows installation.

Any suggestions?

When running the GTS 450 is there any other cards in the system?

yes there are other cards:  have three.  450 is the main card in system.  Have 2 8800gtx, non sli, in the system also.  They run fine.

Can you post the log file from the GTS 450?

Ok, remember, new at this.  I'm confused.  I can't do anything with it as it says the card is not supported or need new driver files.  So I don't see any log file for it.  It is my main card in this folding system - so has the monitor attached to it.

Use GPU3 to start the card folding, like in your first post when the card goes to sleep and use that log file.

Do you have the f@H set to run as administrator? It also appears that you are using the wrong client for the 450, you need the high performance client : http://folding.stanford.e..nglish/DownloadWinOther

Good catch. I would go into that gpu's folder and delete everything except the client.cfg and .dll files and see if it will get to working.

I would also suggest checking what drivers in device manager the 450 is using. should be the 260 betas.

    delete these:
unitinfo, queue.dat, FAHlog-Prev, FAHlog, client, and the entire Work folder
to get to the folder you need to delete items out of, you will need to have hidden folders visible and then follow a similar route to get to them like this :Right click on start, and select Explore. Point to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming, and locate the Folding@home-gpu folder

According to device manager it's:  Nvidia 8.17.12.6063 from 9/10.  Have I got the wrong drivers?  Maybe I should roll back to the last version, non-beta.

    drivers are correct
Also you could try this method as posted by Talonman:
    http://www.evga.com/forum..hive/tm.asp?m=100553642
This is the only way I have gotten my GPUs running correctly.

No need to apologize, trust me, if you search the forums I have had my own issues with this. The thing is there are LOTS of people willing to help here. All good people IMO.

How do you have the -gpu flag assigned to the GTS 450 card? Is it -gpu 0, -gpu 1 or -gpu 2?

I'm not sure that I have intentionally assigned a gpu flag, but have figured out it's gpu2 because the other two are showing 99% useage.

question:  how do I see the appdata folder?  Can't seem to figure out how to get it to show up.

Go into control panel and then folder options. The select the View tab at the top of the window that opens. Go down to where it has show hidden file, folder and drive and put the check mark on it.

I have read the post by Talonman.  But am wanting to use FAHGPU tracker for its ease of use.  I thought the 450 was working with the systray method, but seems it wasn't working there either.  Have another 450 OC in my main rig, along with a 480.  Started right up with folding.

as I understand it, the 450 is misidentified.
