Just got my 1080 FE from EVGA and wanted to do a few tests to make sure all was well, I didn't do any overclocking and all settings are stock but on everything but GPU-Z dedicated video memory for the 1080 is listed as 4095 MB. I wasn't sure if this was just a software reporting error or maybe a driver issue or something else. I upgraded from a 980 SC through step-up. Ran a few benchmarks and things seem a little off to me but I'm probably just being paranoid. Before putting the new card in I deleted all old drivers, ran DDU to ensure all traces of the old drivers were gone. Installed the new card then downloaded the newest drivers. If anyone has any insight on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X Gaming 3 ATX LGA1151
CPU: Intel core i5 6600k oc to 4.4 ghz
Memory: Kingston HyperX fury 16GB
GPU/Video: EVGA GTX 1080FE
-Driver Version: 10.18.13.6839
PSU: EVGA Supernova 650P2
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
Version: 1511

Benchmarks:
Heaven 4.0- FPS 63.9 Score 1610
Hitman - 58 FPS  (DX12)
Rise of the Tomb Raider - 92.06 FPS
Firestrike Ultra - score: 2646
Firestrike- 16244

I'm pretty new at all this so any help would be awesome. I searched the forums and couldn't find anything similar to my question so I hope I'm not not being redundant.

Yes, software just not reading it correctly. You can check the NVIDIA control panel for correct MB

Like they said, it isn't a big deal.  To correct it, you would have to install the old card, remove all drivers and uninstall the card through device manager and power down.  Remove the card and then power back up.  Power down and install the new card.  Power up and install new drivers and it should read correctly.

Happens to PCs at work all the time.  Happened on my TX until I did the above steps.  OCD....

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I don't have the old card as it was a step up. Oh well.
