system restore is unrequired, Sysinfo has an uninstaller in programs and features, reinstalling Vantage after removing the '11 version of sysinfo will install the vantage version.

System restore takes much longer to perform and isn't fool proof (as much as it improved over XP's).

To overcome the failed Physics test go into the help menu of 3D Mark 11 and untick the box that says to Scan Systeminfo and try again. This seems to work.
If I untick that box I get 9 fps in the combined test. If I leave it ticked I get 41 fps. Every time.

From the responses on the FM forums, it appears that only people with SLI are having problems with the sysinfo being overwritten and vantage then being corrupted. Pinto (FM Forums) has a possible fix: PINTO: "The problem appears on sli rig only but there is a solution! It solve the combined test problem on sli setup too: -download nvidia inspector -click on the button near the driver name -it open a new screen -in the first group of keys modify the Sli compatibility bits(DX10) from 0X00000000 to 0X008000F5 -apply change -run your bench as usual for me it works great increase the combined test from 10fps to 40 and run Vantage great artefact free" http://futuremark.yougame...hp?t=139008&page=2 Hope this helps guys.

I just tried this fix. When I apply changes, the nvidia inspector crashes. I wonder if I need to create a new profile instead of modifying this one. I am continuing to explore. I will report back. Edit: Silly me, I had afterburner running the background. Once I stopped AB from running, base profile changed easily.

idk if I have this issue yet, but I appreciate the heads up as I am one that turns off system restore. It could save me from going back a system image before 3D11 was installed, then again, giving the theasco that it is, it might not be a bad idea There is way too much fixing going on for soemthing that was delayed for fixing

I used the fix, ran mark11 and this is what I got: http://3dmark.com/3dm11/66385 Seems a bit low, but whatever. Look at the different scores, for graphics, physics then combined. Is something wrong here? Edit: Ran Vantage immediately after mark11, no artifacts/tearing/crashing. It appears this fix might indeed work until patch is issued. Score from Vantage run: http://3dmark.com/3dmv/2783198

Also, I am running 2D surround and currently, this is broken as well. I get a sliver in the middle of one screen no matter if I use 5760x1080 or anything else. I was a "little" upset about all the failed support. I immediately contacted FM, here is the link to my conversation with FM_Jarnis, and another owner Patrick asking questions: http://getsatisfaction.co...s_not_working_properly I was a bit mean in my second reply, but darnit, someone here FAILED. There was an obvious disconnect with Nvidia and FM. Both are to blame in my book. According to the info in the above link, FM had limited access to the 580's...

Johnny, i've been using Vantage lately while just havin the res set at 1920x1080 after i've already set it up for 3 screens while benching. Back when i would run it while having the res set for tripple screen but it annoyed me as it would turn the other 2 screens on and off inbetween the bench sceens. THat plus i figured the system would bench higher not runing all that memory for tripple screens at the time for benches.. I just changed the screen res to 1920x1080.. When i'm done benching i can just change the res back to the max and all 3 screens would be back up. I've done the same for 3Dmark11 as well.. no probs runing the bench when i only have 1 screen up as i have the desktop res set to 1920x1080.

Had same issue after installing 3DMark11. The future mark forums listed a contact for a patch for 3DMark11 that they were trying. I received a link for the patch, it seemed as though the patch was for the system info and it was supposed to stop the black screen when you reached the physics test. Patch did not work. I had to uninstall 3DMark11 and Vantage. I looking in my installed programs and it was showing two entries for Futuremark System Info. I uninstalled both of these. I then reinstalled Vantage and it is working just fine. Sent them an email informing them that the patch did not work and that it was corrupting the Vantage system info and causing Vantage not to work. Link to Vantage Score: http://3dmark.com/3dmv/2786580

Sure wish I would have seen this tread yesterday. Installed a second 580 SC yesterday and decided to bench with Vantage after I had tried 11. I thought I had issues with SLI or a bad card?? Sorted now after a few hours of fun and seeing this thread.

its NOT 0x08000F5 its 0x080000F5 ( four zeros after 8 ) otherwise NVinspector will crash :p

3DMark 11 SLi (Possible Fix) First thing's first... Download Nvidia Inspector: http://download.orbmu2k.de/files/nvidiaInspector.zip Next, Open it Up and click the Tools Icon as demonstrated and highlighted below: Next a big window with multiple listings of settings will appear. Within the first 5 entry's you will see two labeled SLi Compatibility bits (DX10) and SLi Compatibility bits. This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image dimensions are 880x794 and 185KB in size. Select the values next to SLi Compatibility bits (DX10) and change it to 0x080000F5 then click Apply Settings. (Make sure 3DMark11 is closed during this time or the setting's won't apply to it until you restart it.) At this point you should get SLi scaling and performance in 3DMark 11. this will also fix your vantage texture problem after installing 3dmark 11 :p

The above fix works Heres my score without the fix http://3dmark.com/3dm11/189281 and with http://3dmark.com/3dm11/191044 Nice jump and both cards are indeed working, HOWEVER....theres an odd rapid flickering from all onscreen light sources in most tests....so you do get SLI...but things aint quite right, at least for me anyways. EDIT, the fix did NOT correct the corruption in Vantage for me...its still a garbled mess. Any new "fixes"? Got vantage working http://3dmark.com/3dmv/2797242 38K P in SLI with the 260 for physX With the CPU doing physics I get 31K http://3dmark.com/3dmv/2797287 Still would like to get 3DM11 to display/run properly in SLI...
