Not at all the boost clock- boosts as required it a constant when folding not so when gaming TBO there is no point in on screen monitoring precision/afterburner when gaming - testing yes but when its working no :)

I was testing it. I like to know if my hardware is working properly. Constant core fluctuation is not normal when under heavy load. Games like Far Cry 3 and Crysis 3 should have the gpu at max boost clock at all times.

313.96 is all good here. I have only played BF3 and BLOPS 2 though. Everything is smoother for those games though. It seemed like there was a slight hitch or stutter before every so often.

d-block I'm getting a lot of frequency fluctuation on my core clock. It is set to +70 which gets it to 1280. It folds perfectly fine at 1280, and is always at 1280. In games, it fluctuates from 1083 to 1280, but mostly it is around 1215. Strange. how is that strange? that sounds exactly like what it should be doing in most games. only in really demanding games without framerate cap of any sort would you run a full boost speeds. d-block I was testing it. I like to know if my hardware is working properly. Constant core fluctuation is not normal when under heavy load. Games like Far Cry 3 and Crysis 3 should have the gpu at max boost clock at all times. yeah during heavy action it should stay at full boost in those games if no vsync or framerate cap is being used. your cpu needs to be known as that could be limiting you in some spots.

This never happened on any other driver. So yes, this is strange. And no, my cpu isn't limiting a single 670, which is a 3770k.

Try 313.96. Supposedly the only difference with 96 is a better installer for the driver. I had major fluctuation with my clocks on xxx.95 and with 313.96 it's better. So maybe the driver didn't install properly. edit: you'll have to go to nvidia's site to download. I can't post a url here apparently.

Ok..runs noticeably smoother than previous driver (296), but now my Desktop Manager quits working after bootup everytime, and in Bf3 when I press map or zoom-map buttons, oh and I almost forgot, even when I die...my surround setup (all 3 screens) go black temporarily (2 or 3 seconds) while the game is still running and then the game pops back up. NICE!!

Thanks, I appreciate it :) Sean, do you have a manual fan profile set? as with SLI it's possible that you are running a little hot? Also try dropping the memory down to 3300 you should get more core clocks then 3700 is 7400 that's pushing very hard mate :)

I never surpass 66C even at max OC's Also lowering or raising my memory clocks had no effect on my core overclock whatsoever. With 304.79 driver I was able to test at 1325mhz on both cards. With the newer drivers that OC has been cut in half :(

I had nothing but troubles with 313.96 beta, In FarCry3 I got a black screen in Co-Op mode during the second map of the Co-op game, the game was functional normally only the NV driver crashed and gave me a black screen, I went back to 310.70 WHQL, this one gives no issues what so ever, my specs in short: Dual Six-Core AMD OpteronDP 2435 D0 @ 12x 2.6Ghz Supermicro H8DAE-2 NVIDIA NForce 3600 Pro 4x 4GB PC2-6400 ECC Reg Kingston 2x EVGA GeForce GTX 680 SC Signatue Editions in 2-Way SLI Onboard Realtek 7.1 HD Audio Win7Pro x64 UK SP1 NVIDIA Forceware 310.70 WHQL NVIDIA Forceware 313.96 BETA

Not sure why it does this but Battlefield: Bad Company 2 also had weird resolution issues.

SeanEJohan It works really well with mild overclocks, but once I start to go past 1280mhz I get driver crashes. BOOO This driver includes several optimizations. Some effects of optimizations can result in a card running hotter as it is performing more tasks in lesser time. Overclockers may find that after updating drivers, you may need to downclock your graphics card a slight bit.

This damn driver screwed up my pc. I didn't see the workaround to avoid the blackscreen/flicking and now my pc is useless. I can't even get into safe mode....... Good thing I just got new parts to build a new pc, and now I'm trying to see if I can save my backup pc without having to re-install windows. Edit: Found a way to get into safe mode on Windows 8 and deleted this driver. I'm sticking to the trusty 310.61, had no issues with it.

Did you uninstall your previous driver before installing the newer one? If so you might have had a case where Windows 8 attempted to install a different driver from 313.96 upon reboot resulting in mixed driver files. A more robust workaround for this is scheduled for a future driver.

A more robust workaround for this is scheduled for a future driver. Did the usual install over old driver with clean install. Why are the newer drivers becoming an issue when the older ones didn't have this issue? Anyways I found this on Nvidia's forum and I followed his directions. Does anyone know if this is legit to avoid future issues? Raptor2099 said:HAHA I did it. Found a PERFECTLY working solution. Thanks to the Josh for confirming that the embedded windows drivers were the cause of this problem. Here's what to do. Gotta do it EXACTLY as shown bvelow though. [shortcut keys in brackets] 1. In Control Panel, goto System [WIN+X -> Y] 2. Click "Advanced system settings" 3. Click "Hardware" Tab then "Device Installation Settings" 4. Select "No Let me choose what to do" and "Never install driver software from Windows Update" (Optional) Uncheck "Automatically get the device app and info provided by your device manufacturer" 5. Now uninstall the nVidia drivers like normal and reboot [WIN+X -> F] 6. After reboot you'll see everything is in low resolution. The driver may still install but it doesn't install all the way like it used to before. 7. Goto Device Manager [WIN+X -> M] 8. Find your videocard under Display Device, right-click and Uninstall the videocard 9. Reboot Again 10. Go back to Device Manager [WIN+X -> M] click the last button on the top right "Scan for Hardware Changes" (Windows will now install a generic WDDM driver {not nVidia drivers YAY}) 11. Install your driver of choice. That's it ! Yes I know that is long winded but it works. I've used the 310.90 WHQL drivers AND the 313.96 BETA drivers and both work this way. I'm currently using the 313.96 BETA drivers. If you have any questions feel free to ask right here in the thread or via PM. https://forums.geforce.co...shing-screen-problem-/ EDIT: I guess this method works. I tested it on my backup PC first, then on my main, and both booted to desktop fine.
