bill1024 When it gets real cold here in NY I will have 17 computers and somewhere around 300 threads/cores crunching BOINC heating my house. Throw in a couple video cards and It stays nice and warm in here. I hardly used any fuel oil last Winter If I remember right it is 3 BTUs per watt of electric used.
If you want to be more accurate, it is 3.412 BTU/hr per Watt

Did you google it or you another HVAC guy? I just remembered it from sizing load for HVAC. I was thinking 3.14 then remembered that's PIE, but who dose not like pie?

chrebean1 the rigs will do the heating as well as the folding! Best of both worlds!
It's amazing how much heat is pumping out of our rigs, Someone should figure out a way to convert the heat output to BTU's haha.
It is called a Fan
oooooooh a wise guy ayyyyyyyyy (Saying it like curly from the three stooges)
Sorry was thinking of how to heat the rest of your house, as I use a fan to push the warm are into the rest of mine. 1 Watt is 0.0568690192748063 BTU/minute or 1 BTU/minute is 17.58426666666667 Watts. So you all know this is in your Calculator that comes with Windows 7 and higher under "Unit conversion" - "Power"

I think electric and heat and those types are measured in hour time frame. KWH and so on. If I remember right. Been so long since I used all that info. https://www.google.com/#q=how+many+btu+per+watt

I also know some other formulas. More computers online = larger electric bill Larger electric bill = louder angrier wife. Louder angrier wife = more time alone in the computer room alone turning on more computers. More time alone in the computer room alone turning on more computers = a vicious cycle. And a bigger electric bill

If anyone wonders what a BTU is. The British thermal unit ( Btu or BTU) is a traditional unit of work equal to about 1055 joules. It is the amount of work needed to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit. One four-inch wooden kitchen match consumed completely generates approximately 1 Btu. In science and engineering, the joule, the SI unit of energy, has largely replaced the Btu. The Btu/h is most often used as a measure of power in the electric power, steam generation, heating, and air conditioning industries. It is still used in some metric English-speaking countries. In North America, the heat value (energy content) of fuels is often expressed in Btus. I can't seem to find if there is a set time frame to heat the water 1 deg. I'll did into it later. Went to the Dr today and my back is a bit sore.

You look fine, my 2 1080 are between 900 and 1.2 so it all depends on the Project you are running. Yesterday I was running really long projects and my PPD was only 880 and today mostly short runs and I am up to 1.2 Today My HFM is showing 4.5 and yesterday only 3.6 (Bottom Left) on web page. and from http://www.overclock.net/t/475163/gpu-projects-ppd-database 1070 shows 699,785

I stopped folding for about half a month give or take and saved $40+ on my power bill. Will definitely have to slow my roll after this contest. EMT for the Win and real EMT are needed for the other side, they must be having a stroke given their performance as late. /s

Don't forget we have the Prigrid challenge and the WCG challenge too coming up. After this electric bill, I think I will be spending some quiet time in the computer room and sleeping on the couch!!!

*slams down the Pimp Cane* NICE! However . . . We've got a massive monthly goal hanging over us, thanks to the Curecoin people . . . We have a Monthly goal of over 5.8 Billion points to overtake before we can claim to own the monthly total again . . . Do you think we can do it?? I KNOW we can, if we put our backs and cards into it, and don't let up!! We can raise our Pimp Hands HIGH and strike DOWN with fury upon the proteins that need folding! d

drougnor I hate to be the bummer, but the list has been ignored after BadBertie. I don't have the time like I did in the past to make sure all new late signups line up properly in the current pieced together system we're running. My apologies, ladies and gents, but if your name is showing up with a November date next to it, you didn't make the time limit cut. d
Well shucks! Guess I'll have to join the next contest, and when will it be?
If you use a computer at night, check out f.lux Research: https://justgetflux.com/research.htmlDownload: https://www.justgetflux.com/This reduces how blue (6500k) the screen is and looks a LOT better once you get used to it - the getting used to may take up to a week! Your screen will be "more orange" at night but it's for the best. In about 15 minutes your eyes won't even notice and I think it will look much better.

Well their are Two Time Changes a Year Fall Back is now going on so I think that Spring Forward would work for the other one. Well I was Hoping that the Spring Forward TZC would be like the one in 2014 Official 2014 Time Zone Challenge Thread (Folding + Crunching!) sajinor was the Host. Official Site Yes Mountain Took 1st Place in this one.

Most likely not this month. With the other planned challenges going on. But I have an idea. Why don't we do a January folding challenge and try to bust the monthly folding record? It is a cold month, we need the heat, it is after all the BOINC challenges. There is the Christmas WCG in December, then January is quiet. January is a while away and we could have time to get the word out. What does everyone think?
