Sorry to be off-topic, Is there anyway to set how much uses GPU-wise?? Or is it based off work unit sizes??   I just started a workunit that is making one of my cards reach 120% TDP while the other is where it usually sits right around 80%-90% TDP.. Both are sitting at 89%-93% GPU Usage (Which is fine). I was just wondering if anyone ever ran into this before and/or where the extra strain is coming from??

Thanks

GO EASTERN!!!!!!!!

I have never see a single WU run the same way and this include the Same Project Numbers.
Each run a little differently from each other is all and each will run differently between different GPU Models.
For the TZC your settings should be set to FULL if set to MED or LOW then you will see even less GPU Usage.

GO TZC 2016

Ok, Yea its always set to full.

Thanks for the insight.

Paused folding my 1070 to apply the bios update. When I restarted it, my estimated PPD is reading 1.8 million. That can't be right.

"Paused folding" .. When doing this you may reduce your PPD for that ONE WU that you have Paused.
Wait until you get a New WU/Project/Task to see what your PPD are after the Bios Update.

Actually, the PPD went UP, not down, lol. For about five minutes it said I was getting 1.7-1.8 MILLION PPD. Has gone back to normal now, though.

Well seem Unpluging my Monitor from my 1070 Made it boost from 400k to 650k by stanford or 540k By the results, Sorry for my Gross Under estimate, had no idea that my system was that taxing. is there anyways to shoot the PDD estimate to 500-550k?

  • The 2016 TZC is underway - fire up those rigs and burn through those WUs!  Lets have some fun and break some records
  • An issue where the zero point was improperly set caused several hours of WUs prior to the official start of the TZC to be improperly counted as contest points
    • Basically, I made an inadvertent change to drougnor's stats system that caused a minor issue and when he fixed the issue he was unaware it threw off the zero point by 5 hours
    • Fixing the error has decreased the points for approximately half of the contest folders and set both team back around 5 to 7 million points
    • The full impact can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GB1ecLcG6feURFLBdAL8CyaTUXsdV9BFMi_Ceg1TnXg/edit#gid=0
    • Thanks to DutchForce for following up and investigating this issue and drougnor helping to track down the issue
    • I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this has caused

Re: 2016 Time Zone Challenge 2016/11/01 17:07:14 (permalink)
Alright, we sorted it out! I'm taking full ownership because it was caused by something I should have fixed last year - The stats setup I run is a cobbled together pile.  Last year I had to make an adjustment to how I pull the stats into the spreadsheet because Google made changes that broke my automation.

Part of that adjustment last year involved me looking at how it posted the data to the spreadsheet, seeing it used a generic reference to the 'first tab' and not a named tab.

Fast forward to yesterday when Troy was setting things up on the sheet and he moved a tab for aesthetic reasons. The script started dropping data and I didn't realize it.

So, somehow, data from 7pm got preserved accidentally as the zero point instead of midnight.

We're corrected now, thankfully and the numbers going forward are accurate.

My apologies for the goof, but this is why I also make the data open to everyone and have a separate replication on my home desktop so I can do a thorough breakdown like this. Post mortems are fun, once I get the thread pulled together.

So, let's keep kicking some solid Protein!

The good news I have fulfilled my yearly requirement of breaking...uh I mean improving...drougnor's stats system.  We should be good from here on out!

Nah, keep causing ruckus! We'd rather have the issues found and pointed out than let it compound and crash us badly.

We love you all as well!

We'll tell them in another day or two, once we've built a large enough lead.

Aww, you didn't tell CPO about the special UNFOLDING event? You know, running out of science to do, so you unfold it for the rest of us to do! You don't not get the double negative points that way!

You are not alone. It is CPO vs. EM  central, Pacific and other.  VS. Eastern and mountain.  Just the two teams this year.
It was as close to being balanced as can be.

Its actually 78 vs 95 where CPO has 17 more folders than EM, but what is relevant is the PPD not the number of folders.

The Mountain men once again uphold their reputation for packing a big punch in points despite their smaller numbers...
