Testing the Primegrid GPU work units shows minimal CPU usage. I've set boinc to use 3 cores for wcg and the 2 GPU for Primegrid. Gotta keep us numero uno for the December challenge.

Just started up my 5820K @4.2ghz last night. Got to pay more attention to not be late on these things . Should be able to put out 50-60k points for the team.

We're still in the lead, but don't let up!  HardOCP is closing the gap.  We were ahead by ~15 million four days ago, and now it's down to ~10 million with roughly 13 days to go.

We are 9,922,462 points ahead as of the last 24 hour update a hour ago.
So they will pass us in exactly,  soon.
EDIT:
I am happy we are in the top 5, I never expected us to be in the lead.

Agreed, top 5 world wide in a Project like WCG is a fantastic acheivement for a small but exclusive bunch of crunchers like ourselves.
But.... after a small glance at Our numbers it may indicate something better than top 5, perhaps even just the top.
Our friends at [H] has gained 404.165 Points last 24hrs.
We have a 7.386.745 lead.
Meaning, at current gain, and Production they will need 18 days to Catch up.
According to my calendar, they don't have that.
But hey... no leaning back. Or else I'll have to eat this post cuarc watching and laughing

Check your math.  You are mixing BOINC points and WCG points.  Divide your timeline by 7 for a more accurate estimate.

Muahahaha.

Crunch on, brothers.

So, is there a best project to focus on.  I'm splitting among all projects right now, but can drop off everything by Outsmarting Ebola as my Nexus 10 is crunching it.

I believe my points are down because I have so many WUs waiting to be validated.

'Aging' your queue by upping your Minimum Work Buffer to 4-5 days helps this a lot, especially if done well before the end of a contest.  That way you are the verifying wingman rather than the waiting wingman.  My 54 cores of 'Awaiting Verification' results dropped from 12 pages to 5 by doing this.

I have 48 pages waiting to be validated.
Way too hot in here, shutting down to 46 threads from 196.
Lets keep a close eye on the UK and other teams. If UK gains ground I'll add a few more cores. 8.5mil ahead now.
Going to be like warm this the next several days. 60f in the daytime and mid 40f at night.
78f in here, open windows and fan can get it down some, but as soon as I close up it gets warm again.

Yes it's ridiculous. Understand completely.

While there is nothing wrong racing to a win, I think it is quite impressive that many small teams are rocking this contest (Including us in that). The more the merrier, but I for one am going to be quite happy wherever we end up. Even if everyone only offered one core. That is one core more to the end goal!

Thank you everyone!

I agree it is for the benefit of WCG that we have these challenges, everyone is a winner. I have no more cores to offer up.
Great milestone with 10 million WCG bill1024!

[H] is gaining 2.8 million points a day, we do not have the CPU power that H can muster up.
They have three very heavy hitters. any two together of those three, can out gun us.
Lets use the call to arms in the primegrid challenge. See if we can recruit a couple GPUs to help out for the few days.
#2 in WCG is really a good finish for us. I hope we can make it #5 in the PG challenge.
There is at least one very large team, maybe two not in this WCG challenge that could beat EVGA and [H] added together.
Would love to have had them in to knock off a ton of WCG WUs. Sicituradastra and Seti

And to think.. most of the ones in that category are doing FAH or are MIA right now. We are actually in the process of waking the team back up. That and winter months help a bit. There are a number of teams out there with the resources to dwarf us. SETI.USA, SETI.Germany, Planet3D, DPC, and a few others for sure. Many of them don't focus on WCG due to the low point pay out and focus on other things.

That's too bad, WCG is doing good work with real results that have been put to use.
Cancer, AIDS, Ebola and clean energy all worthy causes.

This is why no matter what I'm running at any given time... WCG always gets a resource share.

That is why I got 1 2600k crunching WCG 24/7 year long . I like what there doing and I like they send me email updates a few times a year . Going to add 32 more cores as soon as I get the time . I know its a drop in the bucket but want to give H a run for it

Wow!  Talk about coming late to a party!  I completely forgot about this challenge and just switched everything over to WCG two days ago.  Too late to affect our team placement, but still glad to contribute and run a project I haven't run for a very long time.

Going to get back to WCG Crunching and GPU Folding full time as soon as I get this rig under water.

i cant speak for anyone but myself
and i am no longer with [H]
i am part of this team now

and i do heavily support WCG, and GPUGrid

i do have a 4P 6282SE system that is down
i also  have 2x1P systems that are working

i have more boxes, but these are the ones in play at the moment
A supermicro H8QGi / H8QG6 is the most favorable solution to me
(just fix the 4P)

however in the absence of being able to get a 4P MB
these could be converted to 3x 2P systems

i dont need anything but Motherboards ...
what can you do for me ...
is what i can do for your team

Thank You for your time
