I can almost taste that 3 billion points now . . . Just imagine the levels we're going to be climbing to after the Pascal boards from nVidia hit the market? Gives me a warm and fuzzy in the cockles of my heart!

troy8d and Punchy, congrats on a well run competition.
Congrats to all the winners, unfortunately, I was not one of them this year. Fingerscrossed for next year..

It was a bumpy road for some of us with the Core 21 problems, equipment failures,
or just not being able to sit in front of your own computer to see what is going on, but it certainly made it interesting, frustrating but a LOT of FUN... See you all next year for the next TZC.

Looking forward to the 3 Billion, Fold on everyone, this will be a record that will be held for some time.....

Nice, looks like I got the FX-8150.
It probably won't be used for folding though (maybe crunching) since it's power/performance ratio isn't the best compared to my Xeons. But I may end up getting a Crosshair V Formula-Z and see what it can do at subzero temps.

Thanks, Troy8d, Punchy, Drougnor & everyone else for putting together and participating in such a great competition like always.
I'll be chugging along towards the 3 Billion with everyone else with just my 7950 now, these 780 Ti's eat too much power.

  • I've gotten the word from Punchy that the prize winner's list has been double checked and is considered final - feel free to start the prize distribution!
  • Its up to donors and winners to coordinate getting the prize into the winner's hands, though I am here to assist if any issues come up.
  • Despite a few bumps along the way that are completely out of our control, its been a great Time Zone Challenge this year!
  • A HUGE thank you to drougnor, DutchForce, NotFordman, and Punchy for helping organize things; to all those who donated something to make this contest one of the funnest we've had in a while (including EVGA via Scarlet-Tech!); and to every person who took the time and effort to participate in the contest this year!!
  • Maybe we'll do it again next year...
  • Onward to 3 Billion!!

Depends, just the cpu or is there more?  Power I can spare.  I could use them for crunching, probably not folding due to lack of Video Cards. At least until my EVGA bucks grow fatter.

ipkha, sorry, nothing else,
as these were original cpu's on HP servers I bought, then upgraded. Would rather they go to a good home, than wasted on the shelf, or worse, thrown away..

Cheers

I'm not sure you can squeeze anymore from those 980s. You're doing a great job especially being away from home. I have withdrawal pains just going to work knowing I have issues folding and you've been gone a month? How have you managed?

I sent a pm to asus939 as he won the Black Ice 480, still have not seen a reply.
Will send it out when I get shipping information.
Thanks again to all the people that made the TZC so much fun and do hope it continues next year.

What do you mean low-tech? Those are precision machined devices that took years to reach the ideal maturity of the tree that sacrificed its life to provide me with those PC elevation cubes.

Yep, and they were cheap too. Their measurements are absolutely perfect with an excellent sanding job. Each one is exactly the same size with no rough edges or flaws. I have information from a reliable source that they came from a genetically modified specially enhanced tree.

Okayyyyyy....lmao... you might want to get a "high-tech" finish on those miracle of engineering parts before they split.

They're already pressure treated so they should be good for a while. Besides, I got spares. I originally lifted my case to allow better airflow from the bottom radiator exhausting hot air. I lifted it this time to allow the dual 120mm fans to intake more air. I figure in a few million years I'll have myself a matching set of 'petrified' PC elevation cubes.

The winners should PM the donors - at least that's what I wrote when I posted the winners, and it seems more appropriate.  For tangible prizes, winners should PM donors their shipping info (and other info like size if relevant).  The one exception is the prizes donated by EVGA; in that case send a  PM to Scarlet-Tech and he will bundle it all together and forward to his contact at EVGA.

Am I supposed to PM the winner or is the winner supposed to PM me?

The winners should PM the donors - at least that's what I wrote when I posted the winners, and it seems more appropriate.  For tangible prizes, winners should PM donors their shipping info (and other info like size if relevant).  The one exception is the prizes donated by EVGA; in that case send a  PM to Scarlet-Tech and he will bundle it all together and forward to his contact at EVGA.

I already PM'd the winner as a gesture of good will, extending a hand in friendship, or presenting an olive branch, etc. Whatever you want to call it. Many of these folders never even check in here so I decided to make the first move just to get it done.
