tucker147 Gah, I just had a project 10493 crash my drivers. Though after switching back to 353.49 and turning SLI off, it's now processing a 9704 without issue, albiet it runs a bit warmer.
I thought you were supposed to disable SLI for folding, no?
YES, Turn Off SLI When Folding or Crunching!!!

By the way, if anyone has any unused/unwanted codes for games (Steam or other), those have been popular prizes in the past.

Did lowering the memory speed 300mhz help at all? I lost 2 or 3 WUs Saturday with my GTX970 but none before that or since that.

bcavnaugh I wonder if all the errors are causing our drop?
It has to be.. Stanford needs to get on this. My drivers haven't changed in over a month, and my ppd was consistent before the challenge, so that shows me that something at Stanford changed, since none of my stuff did.
Just like before, Stanford Blames NVIDIA and Stanford Could Care Less about us little people, we just have to march on.
I had something to say about the way Stanford treated people on there forum and it got me a nasty gram from one of the moderators. He told me that one more comment and I would be banned so I banned myself from there forum. It wasn't even a bad comment at all just said the people that contribute all the money for equipment and power to produce the results for there research should be treated a little better. Now do any of think that is wrong?

OK boys and girls I rolled my drivers back to the 353.62 and have not had one failure all night Just checked my log files on all three computers after clearing them out before going to bed. Every GPU was OC to 1500 MHz as soon as the drivers were installed, had so many failed work units before that it was not even funny at all. I did not wait for the work units to finish just shut folding down installed the 353.62 drivers and started folding back up and did not loose any of the work units and very few point for doing so, as a matter of fact got more points than I would have by loosing one work unit.

980HC (One Core 21 P9704 Only Failed) Lowering Memory 40 more MHz Now Running 2786 MHz It did reach 98% then Failed. I also added client-type = advanced the same I have on my GTX 980 Hybrid Rig, I do not see as many P9704 Projects. Another problem is after it fails I get one more to take it's place only to Fail Once More. I will lower my Memory Clock each time till I get to 2000 MHz then after that I will just stop and Finish up.

That is how I had it set, that is no setting. Note: No other card is failing on the Same Rig that is 3 of the 4 cards are running fine as long as I do not see a P9704 Task.

I know the horse has already left the barn, but could we have a new thread to discuss GPU driver issues and failures and have a separate thread (this one) for the TZC itself? I'm going to ask one of the moderators if they can split it for us.

Wouldn't it make more sense for someone who is up to date on the GPU issues (like you) to create a new thread with a title that people can find easily? Rather than telling people to wade though 33 pages of TZC discussion? The way it's working now, people are missing TZC information because they stopped watching the TZC thread as it fills up with GPU complaints.

Don't the problems we're having with drivers and failed Core x21 WU during this challenge qualify as being important to those of us participating in it?

Yes, of course they are. They are, however, not directly related to the contest itself and as Punchy pointed out can be quite distracting for those coming here to find information on the contest. These issues are also important to anyone folding on a GPU that is not participating in this contest and this thread is probably the last place someone would look for that information. A few posts about GPU problems in the contest thread is not an issue but when it comes to dominate the thread it can quickly become an issue. Its a difficult line to draw and certainly is a result of group-think rather than any one individual, but Punchy's point is probably valid that this thread has gotten too far off topic. Both contest participants and GPU folders would be better served by separate threads devoted to each individual topic.
