Drahzar - You will NOT regret the move to SSD for a boot drive. Every PC but one in our house is on an SSD Boot disk with standard drive for profile storage. Booting into a fully functional desktop in a matter of a few seconds is AMAZING!

Is that from your room or down in the lobby? I remember my first real experience with lodging wifi I had to walk to the check in building to get any internet.

I should have sat this competition out as it just makes the teams too lopsided to have only one person doing 5ish mil/day. Next time I'll have to request just being on my own team to make things more fair.
Well back in the days of the Big adv. Mountain Had a lot of big guns . Now there is a few that have not folded in a bit . Like Old Slow Gamer . Heck I am only running about half of what I got just been scabbing parts and not updating vid cards . But did just order a new reservoir so I can put the one in main comp. back in other comp it belongs in not big Enough for main . So no you should not of set out this competition .

That was when we Folded and Crunched. I miss that one. I am doing all that my circuit panel will allow, but I do like the MOP it up Team Name.

Which, of course, means we're coming back larger than ever next time around. Right folks? d

I've been waiting to move to the SSD boot until I got this drive, I've got a HyperX 3K 120GB that I won in a contest a while ago, but I haven't been able to break up my RAID array since I wouldn't have space enough for my games if something happens. Now I get to wait until the TZC is over, but I wanted to clue everyone in to the deal.

They had a 2TB SSD for far more than I was able to spend, but it was there.

My room, and I am right next to check in, so I get better Internet than everyone else, and this is what it is.. B, I am in Arizona, TDY... this is the best Internet I can get so I don't waste my data.

I'm looking more in the 4 to 6 TB scale, but only when prices come down closer to current. I paid $100 each for 2 4TB drives the other week. The me that paid 4 times as much for a 2GB drive is frothing at the mouth. *laughs*

I don't think that anyone should exclude themselves or be excluded from the TZC. It was never meant to be a "balanced" contest - there are other things like Folding Madness where that is attempted. The TZC is a "challenge" - meant to find the champion time zone for a particular year. If I recall correctly, every time zone except Pacific has won at least once. Folders come and go, and hardware requirements change, so the time zones' strengths will change from year to year. Several times the winner has been the time zone that's done the best recruiting job ahead of time. Let's not start down the slippery slope of discouraging people from participating, whether they produce "too much" or "too little". The point is to benefit medical research and have fun!

And to continue Punchy's point, we're pushing a 6th straight day of record crushing points production as a time - 6 days of over 100 million PPD as a team as a direct result of this folding contest.
There is NO shame to be had in folding more than you anticipated. It's actually become a bit of sport trying to guess who's going to be producing a HUGE margin over their reported PPD. One of these days I hope to be able to add surprise horsepower in the middle of the contest so I too can be in the 'sandbagger club'. *laughs* If we keep our rates in the same ball park for most of the month, we'll easily crush last month's numbers by a decent margin. I will be blown away and HONORED if we can keep production high enough all month to bash our way through the 3 Billion points in one month mark. Think about that - 3 BILLION POINTS in one month, when not so long ago, we were actively fighting [H] to be the first team to break 10 Billion points IN TOTAL!
You all make this Pimp some Funkin' proud to be your teammate! d

Mr Bacon I'm last in Central :( I feel your pain. Hoping that won't last for much longer though.
We can do it! :) I just broke 100k total yesterday, looking forward to reaching my first 1 million hopefully by the end of this month. After finishing this next work unit I'm going to try adding my GTX 560 Ti in and see what happens. At the very least, it'll let me run a bit more on my computer as long as it works.
Yes! Every little bit helps. I'm hoping to get mine up to the 140-150k PPD that I'm supposed to be at.. Soon.. Very soon.. The computer is definitely enjoying this cold weather too.
