hmmm... being team captain and not signing up yet sends bad vibs

still waiting on parts

Now how does one put down an estimate PPD for unknown config of machines
although I know what I have now...that won't be the case soon

I hate delaying until I have numbers...
Im in the boat ...if I est to high I hurt the team...same if Im too low ...so I wait

if the new rig gets up - I'll have to stabilize the OC first so Im hoping to have it up next week - crosses fingers (part on back order)

you'll know when it comes in because my PPD should increase rather abruptly

You do not hurt your team if you estimate too low - you just may not maximize your potential contribution to the team.

If Dad waits any longer to get the net up, I'm gonna have to spitball my PPD, if he has it up before the signups close.  I hope I don't end up guessing too high or I'll have a hard time trying to make up the difference.

Signed up...

I waited because my PPD varied from 300 - 380K and even 220K yesterday on P8043 WUs (before the points adjustment).
I have not seen many P762x WUs lately, so that's why I've estimated 300K.

Well, if we get net up this weekend, I'm signing in, but I'll have to fling a number at the wall and hope it's good.  I'll fling low.  Better to over produce than to under produce, that's how I look at it.  As mentioned, even if I don't get full credit, it'll make up for when something goes wrong.

Well looks like at this time I will only be running my gaming rig off an on for this. So I may have to decrease my guestimate PPD. Not sure why I can't get my e6600 to run

Yea I need to lower mine too Troy can you change my estimate from 85,000 down to 75,000 please

I seem to be dropping to that level with the current work units.

Will it damage what ever team we are on if we guess higher then he produce?  I mean I only predicted like 20k PPD which is outstandingly low compared to most participating so maybe it won't make much of a difference if say I produce like 10 - 20k?

No

the team only loses points if you don't reach your said estimate, going over it just a bit won't hurt it.

It's a tricky system to be honest and could be hard to manage when the work unit PPD keeps changing. On my setups I seen anywhere from 75K to 125K depending on the combination of units I do, so best to set the etimate to your lowest PPD.

You will never lose contest points for producing more folding points.  In fact, you will always gain additional contest points for any additional folding production.  You may, however, not receive full contest points for folding points beyond a threshold (this threshold is determined by the relative performance of everyone else).

GAH!!! one thing after another
At the moment not to worry - It's not the rig ...more to do with some modding...
I knew I should had widen a Wiring port (at top of case - Bugger fishing the Extra power connector for MB thru it)
had to replace a case 120mm fan(non LIT LED with a fancy LED one) and fixing another (Damn wire broke off an LED - could barely tell - until I did a closer inspection)
Still need to order two LED 120mm for the case side cover - no biggy

I can't do anything about cable management either - since  this is a temporary PSU

It should be up tonight as far as I know
(yep definitely Alive - A whole night of M$ updates , Security software updates, BIOS updates)

I love the Fan controllers for the NZXT phantom cases

Ok so you are saying I could possible hurt my team if i DO NOT produce enough PPD to match my prediction?

What your saying there is it wont be hurt if I go over. That is not my concern here. I am concerned if I am under what I guessed. So I guess I will need to go back and put 10kish for my PPD. 20k is going to be to much for me to do with my one rig that doesn't fold 24/7.

I gave a lowball PPD estimate to hold my place, just gotta see what I can manage with my one running system.  Gotta see if SMP is going to be good to me.

I put in the average PPD for 2/3 the speed I'll be running.  I figure it gives me a bit of leeway if I get dumpy units or can't pull 24/7.

I should get an idea today what to put in
I figure on 150k PPD...maybe more
cleaning out one rig today(Dust bunnies and Dirty rad) and putting another GPU in

It will be nice to eliminate a few people on my six and make it a little harder for a few to pass me

You are correct... Folding M@Dness is a contest within our team and Chimp Challenge between teams.

It's encouraged to fold on as much hardware as you can (*) and if you want your estimated PPD changed just PM our ContestMaster Troy8d.

* Edit: One of our Contest goals is to Achieve the first 1.0 Billion points month for our Team!!!

I'll come out of retirement for this one. Since I'm back to work everything is folding 24/7 for all but 5 days a month and my home time is limited when i do get home.

EOC is showing 163k for my 24 hour average. I'm guessing that I have been getting nothing but 726x WU to get those numbers. I have not set up any remote monitoring so i really don't know what is going on. Might need some outside help to set my daily average properly. If anyone has a better idea of what i should put down send me a PM and I will try to stop by here a little more often to check in on things.
