All of this angst and drama is why I would prefer to simply see randomly-assigned teams, no balancing, and random selection of winners that has nothing to do with what team they were on but rather just that they fully participated. Never mind, it's only the third or fourth time I've said it.

Now Punchy, that is is a scary suggestion. That random selection process sure as hell would land me on the Insaniacs Team where they'd like to have their way with me. I'm fairly sure they'd take away my chicken neck too and leave me defenseless. I'd not heard your suggestion before and I actually thought you were playin' with all that stuff... . I know, let's declare tomorrow an angst-free day and just have fun!

Madrias Afterburner I have an idea... Keep the formula "Exactly" as it is now for the month... Just add another column in each teams tracker that says "Overachievers" that collects all the overage for that team. That "Overachievers" columns' purpose is to maintain focus on the big picture while the "Calculations" do what they do. Same thing with the main contest page. Make it a secondary race. This way all types of enthusiasm is captured/satisfied. The prize could simply just be a simple signature pin. Bottom line... Two races... One as we are running now, the other aiming right at the 1 Billion goal. Promoting "Both" the winning team and the winning spirit of EVGA... I like this idea! It shall be my goal to be the second or third biggest overachiever on the Insaniacs Team. Now that's the spirit!

Ugh! These 12 hour units are killing me. They cut my PPD majorly and take massive amounts of time. If I wanted my desktop tied up doing one unit for a long time, I'd do -bigadv. At least then I'd make more than 50k PPD.

ShadowSplicer Has anybody seen the revamp to the Stanford main folding site? Looks a lot more fancy now. http://folding.stanford.edu/ More attractive, maybe more folders would join, and also noticed a client update. In February was 7.2.9 and now it's 7.3.6.

Isn't 7660 still in beta, if so drop the beta flag. The other WU's that are out of beta are worth more PPD anyways. Drop your OC a little. I've had no problem with 7660.

done a bunch of 7660 on my 560 classifieds. I have them at their stock settings and have no problems.

rjbelans I haven't seen that behavior before. Have you tried just pausing the units and then starting them up again after you're done without actually shutting down FAHControl? Pausing first then quit the app works. Now I have to wait for another 14K+ credit WU to finish and update to version 7.3.6.

Yeah, same here. Woke up from a nap (quite sick from pneumonia) to check on my rig, and my SMP was just sitting there trying to connect for an hour. TheWolf

What would that do to point values? I'd rather find a fix for my one unit problem instead of getting massive units.

3/6/13 - In regard to the contest options presented here, a final decision will be made by Friday. After reading all the feedback provided and much consideration for what is both fairest and most engaging/entertaining for all participants I am currently leaning toward leaving the core of the contest as is. As several have pointed out, it is the fairest to all and the contest as designed is not inherently broken.
- That being said, however, the contest it can leave those that are overproducing a bit unmotivated to push themselves to the limit. Two ideas that arose from the feedback provided are a separate category for a month long unrestricted team points competition (which team can produce the most raw folding output ignoring contest points), as well as an over-producers competition (which team's individuals have the most total overproduction). Either of these options would be a secondary competition that play out along side the main Folding M@Dness contest. AB has been so kind as to create a poll to determine which of these two options is preferred, please take the time to vote in it here.
- As always, any additional feedback is both welcome and encouraged.

To many failed WU's you lose your bonus points for SMP. I had found using the advance flag that I was getting 80xx and 762x work units and none of the 766x projects. I haven't folded GPU in a few days so I'm not sure if it has changed but was still working for me two days ago. I've gotten where I don't like to post these finds openly, since every time I do PG makes changes to counter act.

I know that dropping units is bad I mean I'd rather fix my issue than throw off my regular folding. But as Wolf said above, it looks like I'm just going to swap to advmethod. Thanks guys!

I just know I quit getting them with the advance flag and went back to getting 762x and some 80xx WU's. Could just be down to luck of the draw. Edit: I was using v7 didn't seem to work with v6 client. I think sometimes the client version used has something to do with it and what you get. Never could get the QRB 8057 with v6 but as soon as I went to v7 they came one right after another.
