I don't think this is an unreasonable request
I would say an accurate guesstimate from drougnor's post would suggest the contest will start in the next 2-6 hours. It would be a good idea to get things running soon, if not now.

The announcement has always come before the actual start of the contest, so this will probably get reset. I believe the more recent cryptic start time contests had about a 1 hour heads up. EDIT: That one hour was just a "get ready!", not an actual "contest will begin in 1 hour."

I gave the heads up on that in chat but Troy had to go to dinner. Insane ninjas that's a bit dangerous isn't it? lol. I assume Troy used the old list templates and changed what was needed to save him a little time, he goofed and forgot that part. He'll fix it when he gets back.
