I'm not trying to suggest anything other than shyte happens. I try to roll with it.
Today is our 3rd day in a row of record high heat and tomorrow will be #4. But it's happening everywhere so no excuses.
Aside from my initial shock of your output, I wanted you to keep going and count it as long as you owned the equipment. You said you did so case closed for me.
I hope there is a format for the final week that keeps all the teams involved and motivated.

The only reason I went to team captains was for some transparancy. they take the message to their members and it was to fix the issue once and for all. I was getting messages after dip's increase just like shykal and mad. Understandable due to the production increase. but after the squabble that we had earlier and people almost leaving, I figured go to the captains get it straighten out once and for all.. Dips folding points were made in all honesty the same as everyone else there should be no reason for him to apply a cap (and at least make a race for us). Secondly if Dip was to produce those points for team EVGA for the 800 goal it was rightly fitting the cap come off for dips contribution to the team. That lead to new round of hub hub sorry to whole Folding team for that one as far as Im concerned it now put to rest Once and for all whether dips points counts count is up to him now Im prepared to take last but I'll go down folding as hard as I can to make the 800 or 900 goal Lets everyone get out and do the same - I don't want to see slacking off (unless either you have hardware failures or have economic issues) Next contest will be interesting to see what we've learned Just Get out there and fold like Dickens. Lets hit that 800 and strive for 900 Get the troops out. post in the general forums to get new members and old members to come back if we want to get 900 we need some miracle recruitment push to do this ps: Isn't that what contest are for to get new members and to stimulate those of us folding to go out and get them? So lets at least try to do this as a team

Contest Goals: Raise awareness about folding and attract members to folding. Fold more than 700 million points for Team 111065 for the month of March 2012. Reach 25 million points in a 24 hour period for Team 111065. That's what this contest was about until we all decided 800 mill was was better to strive for  .That's the point make people fold hard accept the challenge and go at it head on for the science for the cure and for goals set, be it the 700 - 800 mil of this contest or each persons personal goal. And just because....  ..... FOOD FIGHT! *throws cream pie at XZ and Diplomacy* (for no other reason than it's fun  )

Now if I can convince everyone to stay onboard and not jump ship we might salvage everything. Im gonna stay...probably in next contest too if any hard feelings come from me I apologize right now I just want people to stay, fold, and learn. Then we grow as a team. So MAD and shykal I hope you do stay wouldn't be the same without you PS bad enough shykal gave me cream pie....now the madness comes

I am sure many are in the same boat. Personally, I will be doing the same. While this type of contest had worked quite well in the past, it needs to be re-evaluated in light of recent changes to F@H as well as changes to our team.

Contest's do not matter for me in that, they do not change my core reasons for folding no matter how, why, what, where and who wins or not. What they do for me is motivate me to fold more for the cause and make me more excited and happy to fold. No contest will change my mind to fold or not. I told my wife that I was going to take 2 rigs offline to save money. Her answer: absolutely not. JMO/YMMV EDIT; the stopping of 2 rigs would have been after contest btw and put c in exited

I enter these contests for the fun factor. I fold 24/7 for the science and do not see that changing at all I did have to go from running 5 rigs down to 2 because of the cost But with hardware upgrades i am close to what I used to produce Lets just all get along and fold our a**es of for the cure !!!!

I completely agree tanner2 and O-S-G. I did not mean to suggest I was reconsidering my decision to fold - the reasons I do that are completely independent of contests and it would be silly to let that get in the way. I don't alter my folding much during a contest other than to try to squeeze every last PPD out when possible. I do contests for the fun it brings to the community and hopefully draws attention to folding in general. My concern is if contests do more harm than good and in general are not fun for those participating or it draws negative attention to folding over things that matter very little.

Don't Knock yourself over the issues this time troy there were plenty of issues caused by many of us in the end we all group hug anyways one thing to note that has been discussed is rules squarely detailed up front along with any formula and like other have said rules changes midstream have to end once those are in place we shouldn't have quarrels we signed up for THOSE rules and agreed to them...no different than your house mortgage you agreed to or your car loan secondly how can boinc teams race and have contest and folders can't... this also goes to the CC seems crunchers in boinc have no problem having races including [h] (and don't fight each other) but when you go to the folding side it's the teams behavior is like the chimp -tear each other apart we can't talk - we can't agree on formula - we stomp and threaten leaving is the points chasing the issue or is it the prizes?

I havent been keeping tabs of what is on going but I will share this. I love the contests here. I used to fold for NCIX but once I saw the community here and the contests I really jumped on board. Also, for contests I really do alter my folding. I try and be as frugal as I can month to month. I usually dont use my gpus to fold and I usually stop after I get my bucks. I have even taken it further with our smart meters going in and only folding during off peak times. When a contest is going on I usually do max output 24/7. My wife can even tell when our computer room jumps a few degrees. She will make some comment about how there must be a folding contest going lol. She knows me too well.

You know? troy has done quite a lot of stuff and dealt with a bunch of unpleasant stuff so I was wondering if we start discussions on a gift prize for troy Im willing to anti up $$ for parts - specifically we put together a rig setup - and surprise him as to what it is and his penalty is for him to post a build page showing the complete put together of the rig from beginning to end - photos of the rig, him, his den, and whatever troy wishes to add to that build page

Hey Troy... No need to feel bad at all. If a person asked me what did not work that is one thing. But as far as a contest this is one of the funnest. Even with the drama or interpretation of there being some drama. You did exceptional on this and I praise you for your efforts. This is a really creative contest and worth a lot more than the praise I can offer. Keep up the good work and let the normal attrition sort things out. As far as me personally. I have had a handful of items happen in F@H that left a bad taste in my mouth. None of those relating to members here or our internal contests. They range from Stanford's changes and how they continue communicate to last years Chimp Challenge. So I am I bit on the sour side when things are not transparent and/or not clear. For me I was spending to much time dealing with the issues than I was working on the reason many of us fold. Something had to change and I was seeing a lot of good honest people have enough with Folding and leaving and or shutting down completely. Instead of crying about it I decided to make a change and offer that change to our community. Well we all know how successful that is being as we are now #22 in the world on DC Vaults chart that includes all of the huge successes we have with F@H and all the BOINC's (Crunching) they track. From where I sit, we have significant talent and desire to help. We just need to channel that energy into what has worked for us in the past. Working as a team with one goal. In other words K.I.S.S....
