Hey guys, just signed up sorry have not been following the forums lately, have a 3 week old son so between him and my 3 year old girl just no time for the forums.

Thanks to XZ for the PM notification (yes PM's work for us that don't have time to follow the forums  )

I have signed up, so I will start folding on my SR-2 until Tuesday morning (sorry use the SR-2 as a server and not folding) and will convert my folding rig on Tuesday as it is at the office, just don't have enough space for all my rigs.

The SR-2 should make for lost time as I get around 100k/day on that, but wont be able to continue past Tuesday morn, sorry.

Going down to the basement now to convert the SR-2 to fold.

And I will be adding a gift in the prize selection.

I was playing DiRT 2 on my PS3 just a few minutes ago, and it suddenly struck me that the Chimp Challenge had already begun.
I quickly raced over to the Life with PlayStation app and switched my folding name over to EVGApes.
Now, I'm good to go. Let's go get 'em this year EVGA!!

Didn't realize that the CC had started. I don't follow forums too closely either But, I'm putting my new (and improved) rig up for full-steam-ahead folding! Go EVGApes!

I normally fold under Johny24. I never check the "Folding@EVGA Contests" Forum, so I didn't know a sign-up existed

Whoops! I didn't realize this was happening until I got a PM about it.

I generally only fold 3 SMP threads (6k PPD) on my trusty server (because I don't pay for power, hah)... but since this is a worthy cause, I'll throw my OC'd EVGA cards and i7 at it - should add a good about 30k to my PPD from the cards alone (not sure how much the CPU will add...)

Go go EVGApes!

Rigasaurus (basic overclock; by no means final):

>>i7 930 (D0) @ 3.7 (stock volts)
>>2 GTX 480s (powering my three monitors of doom)
>>Corsair HX1000
>>6 GB Corsair RAM (9-9-9-24)
>>HAF-X case (loaded with a crapton of fans)

I quit folding a while back when the 470s came out and I upgraded my 260s. All the problems with Fermi folding and also its heat/power issues.

I received a PM from "hinebaud" yesterday for to sling some poo...
Folded last night on both 470s... they ran 70°-71°C all night with no crashes. Did a couple of 8020s, working on another set now.
Thanks hinebaud.

Re:2012 Chimp Challenge Sign-up Thread 2012/05/25 01:21:13 (permalink)
No tripping (main) breakers here, I had to have a new dedicated 20A circuit put in when I built my main rig as I needed a new/bigger battery backup to support the power.  I did however find out that my power supply isnt big enough for full on folding load, so I had to back off the GPUs a little, and pull back a CPU core.

I feel like my SR2 system should pull/process a bit more than it currently does, but it's hard to complain because I know it still chugs away really hard relative to my other system.  The i7 920 @ 4Ghz runs 24/7 for the team effort, while my SR2 runs in the evenings/all night/mornings. What do you guys think of these numbers...I'd love to see even more performance out of it if possible?

The only thing that stands out to me is the 560ti seems a little low. Mine gets about 14-15k on those wu's, and 16.5k on 8009. I can't speak to the sr-2, no experience here.
Other than that it looks good, thanks for chipping in.
