Wow, already building and expensive box with expensive cooling for something that has yet to have a release date. That would be like building a computer 5 years ago in anticipation for Starcraft II...

JK, but what will you throw in that awesome conglomeration until you get your desired parts? (Hint hint, use a 7 year old HP and move it into this, just to mess with people. )

I have, performance wise they both seem the same, the Dell seems to display better colors though, and for the Acers be prepared for the old non glossy display, if Acer would have used a glossy display like the old G series this monitor would have been better. Dont get me wrong I love them but I am just saying if you are going to spend the money the Dell is just the best choice!

Sorry but for the SSD's I went with Crucials Sata 3 drives, check out the reviews they dominate Intel's ssd's. I have two in raid 0 and they are amazing!

    SSD: for OS+Prog I propose 2 x OCZ Vertex2 in raid0 => ~500GBs R/W and I/O's up to 50k (4kB)...

    I'm today running 2 x OCZ LE 100GB (raid0) + 6 x OCZ Vertex (raid0/LSI) as scratch disk (cpu I7-420).

What I looking in to today is witch HDD ?
    1 - Seagate Cheetah 15K.7
    2 - WD Velociraptor 600GB 10K
    3 - WD Caviar Black 1TB/64MB Sata600
I'm sure I will put them in raid 0/10/5...

well, i ended up changing my mind - i switched to the AW and cancelled my order for the acers - should have the dell models in next week.

what about TRIM in RAID 0 ? I though you couldnt do both yet.

going to pull the trigga on OCZ vertex2 200GB

There are no raid controllers that support TRIM so i'm just sticking with 1 drive for now until TRIM is supported in RAID.  I would not want to unraid just to trim and then restore every time it started to slow down.

vertex2 review is up on anandtech

well, chances are if its nice and offers some kind of performance I would consider it.  Im giving evga till june 1 to spit the board out, then i'm going to practice some voodoo on them.

tracking says MM pedestal should be here friday 5/7  , 5/10 on my dell order (3d monitors), newegg SDD order just says shipped with 3 day ups.

Here is my unofficial theory , newegg has the power supply coming in supply by june 1, so that must mean the MB has to be ready by then too.

Wow it that your three screens?? Nice.
Tell me what you think of the vertex 2 ssd? (when you get a chance to check it out). Im into buying a new ssd and ponder either the vertex 2, the crucial realSSD C300 or the corsair nova.
At present both my desktop + laptop run with corsair p128. Which is nice. But these newer SSDs seem to offer even more bang!

from what I read over at anandtech I wouldnt be buying a crucial drive just yet.  it was my second choice until I heard about the firmware issues though.
