Hello All,

Running Windows 7 (32 bit) with 8 GB ram - was playing BF3 just fine and shut down like normal. Been about 2 weeks since started up computer and now getting post error code 7F on boot - tried restarting several times and get same error code.

Any suggestions on what to try for a fix?

7F - Name: POST error check Description: Check POST error and display them and ask for user intervention.

I've read that this could be a GPU issue (no video out) and to try reseating the GPU in different slots and checking cables - sound like a good place to start?

7F means the card isn't being detected, or waiting for user input. If you get no video test the other DVI port, make sure your using a known good cable and monitor.

If you get the same code, in every PCIe slot its the card or the PSU. It could be the slot, the motherboard maybe bowing down due to the weight and grounding, however this is a very slim chance. If you have other connectors from the PSU to test I would start there. I would also disconnect all non-essential peripherals to free up as much power as possible.

Try inserting the card in a different PCIE slot...it should tell you that you have to have the card installed in the first slot.  Have you checked your PSU?  On another note, a Windows 32 bit OS will only recognize/use up to 3.25GB of RAM.  You have 8GB installed, but the the rest is being wasted.  If you want to use all 8GB, I recommend that you install a 64 bit OS.

7F wants "user intervention", or input, which means by you pressing a key, either F1 to continue or DEL to enter setup (even though it, or anything might not be displayed on the screen)..Try pressing F1 and see where that takes you..But first I would turn off and unplug the PSU and remove the mobo battery for 10 minutes then remove all but 4GB of RAM in the meantime..Then put the battery back in (preferably a new one), plug in and turn on the PSU and try to boot..If by chance you can get into BIOS, select "Load Defaults".
