EVGATech_RayH CPU bottlenecks are very easy to test and they do not require anything as complicated as messing around in the BIOS or testing in a more powerful computer. Test your computer in the game as you have, get a good feel for the performance or chart the FPS. Then exit and go into the Windows Power Setting and set the Maximum Processor State to 50% so that the CPU will be locked a lower clock C-State. Then test the game again, if you have moderate slow-down but the game is still playable, then you do not have a CPU bottleneck, if the FPS falls off a cliff or the game has very bad stuttering then you have a CPU bottleneck in that particular game. Remember to change the power setting back to 100% after the test. You will have to repeat this test for each game as the amount of the bottleneck will vary from one game to the next.
This is one of the best posts I have seen in a long time!!!
+ 1,000. In no dear times in EVGA history have I ever heard anyone explain it that good in a way to test CPU bottleneck. Ray needs to get a complimentary gas card from his boss.

I do not have this option under advanced power options. Probably because I had C States disabled in BIOS. I'll change it a give this a shot later tonight.

Yeah that is a good point, if you have the processor locked at the highest frequency in the BIOS, Windows Power Management will ignore that setting and not display it

um there is a very simple way to test for cpu limitations without doing any nonsense. just lower the res and if performance stays the same then the cpu is the limitation. the issue for the op is not cpu related though. he simply had no clue what the heck he was doing when he turned on 4x SSAA while already at 1440p. that is roughly the same as running 5k so of course the game was running a bit slow.

um I said what the issue was in the very next sentence... and the OP has already figured that out too.

Not in that statement, you didn't... You have sentence 1 that says "the issue for the op is not cpu related though." Then, you go on a wild tangent that says the OP doesn't have a clue what he is doing." While that could be an issue, yes, it does not define what you were meaning in sentence #1. Learn some English, and quit being a turd. No this isn't English class, but it's not who can be the biggest troll either. If you're going to give people advice, politeness goes a long way. Have a good night sir.

jeez learn how to freaking read. I clearly said in the very next sentence that he was simply running settings that brought his framerate too low. and AGAIN the OP had already figured that out by the time I replied here so not only did you not read what I said, you did not even see that the OP had already said 4x SSAA was the issue too.

so I am a troll because you lack basic reading comprehension? grow up and learn to read next time before getting an attitude.

I was calling you out for the attitude. I can go in your profile and read your comments, and will put any money on the table 9/10 it will be a rudely put comment, calling someone out, because they didn't know and was asking for help, and because they didn't know, you comment with a double edge sword making them look like a tool. Well congratulations Trek, you're famous on the forums, that nobody cares bro what information you know of. Nobody cares if you are a knowledgeable person, but people can tell by the snap of the fingers when you're being rude. It's almost every time you comment when you're trying to give tips. It's real pathetic. Just quit.

and YOU are the one that got the attitude here for no reason. you are the one that asked a question that was already answered right in front of you. and apparently you still dont get it based on your reply back. its not my fault you have some type of limitation that prohibits you from comprehending here. calling me a troll makes you feel better I guess though.

I have seen his posting style myself and been at the front of it before. I don't know how he gets away with it on here considering how strict they are. You do have a block button just so you know though.
