1080 Sli with diffrent variants,

Hello!
I have a Evga 1080 FTW and i want to run sli with another 1080 ftw but the problem is i have only the top 2 pci e lanes to use, wich means the card will sandwich themselfs and then the top card will not get very much air i guess?

And i wonder if i can have the EVGA 1080 FTW HYBRID and then my regluar FTW card will this work good?
Or does 2 regular cards with 0 spacing work fine?
or should i give up on the hopes and dreams of running 1080 sli at the moment?

    What about a complete water loop for both cards?

    i7- 5930k w/ XSPC Raystorm cpu block       
    Asus Rampage V Extreme

    Well that might work but then i have to buy a new case and so on! 

    Or can i cool two gpus using one 120mm radiator? 

    but i really want to know if it whould work good, because as far i as i am aware the are the same cards just with diffrent cooling and this whould be the best soloution for me.

    Basically all that is required for SLI is same core and same amount of Vram.
    I have had a 1070 FTW SLI'ed with an MSI Aero 1070. Only problem I encountered is the FTW is substantially taller than the MSI...had to use flex type bridges as opposed to "hard" bridge.

    Not very well. Double that would be better. You would better off with the stock air solution versus one 120MM rad. The question of the hybrid kit on top is a good one. I'm not sure how well it would work because, the cooling plate still needs air to cool VRM,ect. What case is it you're running?

    Hmm i am running a phantek P400S with a 240mm rad in the front for the cpu but i dont really want to watercool with custom loops on the gpu's.
    Very well ventilated case and cable management so i hope and think it will be good enough!

    Theres not space in the top for a large rad either since the motherboard will be in the way.

    ive orderd a Hybrid now anyways ill do some testing and if it does not work good i will return it.
    i can post some results if anyone is interested with the temps and so on :)

    You can always do a external rad for both cpu and gpu's. I ran one like this one for about 2 years.

    They sell the box, grills, feet etc. and it's all outside the case. Temps were amazing, 28-30 idle and 38-45 full load.

    Hybrid FTW on top and FTW on bottom should work fine as long as you have good air flow inside the case.
