Hey guys,

I've stopped all fans in my case to be able to sleep at night but there is still a buzzy sound which really annoys me. And I think it's because I can't set the fan on the GPU below 56% and about 1200 RPM, which is quite a lot. I thought FTWs have 0 dB option when they're idle, below a certain temperature. And this one doesn't have a blower, it has a 10 cm fan. Isn't it an ACX 3.0 one? Is it because of that? If there is no way to lower the fan speed, unfortunately I will return it. I can't stand that noise.

Btw, I'm not talking about radiator fan, just in case.

Edit: I also can hear it and find noisy even on day. I bought this type because it was going to be much lower temps so I wouldn't have to use fans at higher speeds and wouldn't hear the noise but it looks like it's not the case.

It is most likely pump noise that you are hearing, not the fan on the GPU. Also the FTW Hybrid doesn't have the 0 db feature on the GPU fan, the regular air cooled FTW card does. You should contact EVGA support about possibly getting an RMA / exchange? I can't hear my pump at all unless I open the side panel of my case and put my ear there. If you exchange it chances are you'll get a quieter one. That would annoy me too.

If only pump causes that noise, it's really loud. My other 280 mm radiator pump just like how you described it, it's unnoticeable unless I am all ears and next to the case.

Where do you have the ftw hybrid rad mounted? Possibly it's how you have it mounted that's making the pump loud.. if it is the pump.

The stock fan on the rad has a high pitch motor sound as well. You could get a different quallity quiet fan for it and plug it in to a fan monitor controlled port other then the plug used on the card.

You put a regular non hybrid ftw in there I'm sure you'll regret it after seeing the temp difference and noise difference during use.

I had 2 of them using 2 corsair sp120 high performance fans at full blast and I could not hear hear them other then the air being pushed threw.

On the back of the case, as an exhaust fan. So it's over the card as shown in the quick manual.

I know the radiator fan is also noisy, but I plugged it on the motherboard and can stop it when I want. The sound is coming directly from GPU, the pump or the fan on the GPU. Not sure which one causes how much. Wish could stop the fan and tell.

The best orientation for the minimal pump noise is to have the radiator fan above the card and have the hoses entering the radiator through the bottom (see the right half of the attached picture). Sometimes just playing around with some different configurations can help as well.

Yeah you want the lines orientated like on the right in the above picture so there's no air bubbles which is bad for the pump.. pump will be quiet with no bubbles. May even take a day or or for the air to move to the top of the rad.

I'm using exactly the same. I also tried to shake it to be able to eliminate air bubbles if any, no improvement.

    Here I've uploaded a sample:

(You can only take a look at first and last five seconds, because in the middle there are sounds of installing the card and my hand hit somethings. :) )

Link removed. :( Will be back later.
