Does anyone know the difference between these two cards besides Base Clock and Boost Clock being 13MHZ higher on the FTW model?

I've stared at the two data sheets and still can't figure out what I get for the extra $40.  On a related point, I've been looking for an eVGA write-up that explains the differences between SC, FTW, etc. but have apparently failed.

For context, I don't game, so this card will be used 100% in a machine dedicated to folding / crunching.

Dual bios is one thing and power phase.. Maybe this will help.

Thanks.  It appears the spec sheet for the non-FTW is simply wrong.  It says the non-FTW has 10 phase power and EVGA Double BIOS.  The requirements even say two available 8-pin power dongles...

The chart you linked shows the differences and they are more consistent with the rest of the line-up.

Updating this thread with another difference referenced in another thread. The most significant difference in my book is dedicated memory plate to keep the memory cool.  Hat tip to bcavnaugh.

It would be great if they would sale the new Hybrid Kits with the new Cooler Shroud and the New Memory Heat Sink.

Interesting review of the 1080 FTW Hybrid.  By cooling the VRAM, it appears to overwhelm the cooler, so the GPU runs 11C hotter than the MSI/Corsair solution they are comparing it to.

There is also a non-FTW 1080 hybrid version in the EVGA store.

Given the 1070 theoretically is dissipating less heat, maybe it doesn't matter for it.

just put aftermarket fans on them and run them at higher RPM's that will lower temps a lot.

Samsung according to GPU/Z.  What is the Micron / Samsung memory issue?

Thank you very much for the fast reply.

All manufacturers of GTX 1070 cards changed the memory from Samsung to Micron after the first production series. This caused some problems (with overclocking, but also in idle and with stock speed). You can google and will find the threads where users complaining.

So you are lucky with the Samsung memory and on the safe side. I think your card rocks.

Thanks again for looking after it.

I just got my other 1070 FTW Hybrid from newegg.  It has micron RAM.
    Updating the BIOS now...
Also the first card ramps the core clock up to 2002 MHz.  The second card 1962.  All default settings.  They are in different systems, so not sure if that impacts it.
Update: After BIOS update - 1974...
