Hello,
After emailing, chatting, and calling EVGA Customer Support I arrive here. I'm replacing my 750 Ti FTW with a 1070 FTW and it isn't working out. I can't install it in any way, shape, or form and it's not clicking. I've removed all the seals, caps, expansion slots, etc. and it still isn't fitting. I've cleared any wires that may obstruct as well.
The right side of the connection on the card goes in fully, but then that puts the card at an angle. It's the left nub that sticks out the most, the one with ~10 pins or so. I've tried to put it in the PCIEx8 slot as well and it still doesn't work, facing the same exact situation. During testing I verified that my 750 Ti FTW goes in and it does. Tech support advised me to try to force the bracket to make more contact with the case but that only misaligns the connections with the slot. Email support suggested I take the entire motherboard out of the case but that doesn't seem like a viable option that would help. I loosened up the motherboard's screws to give it a little more wiggle room in case it needs to adjust to the card.
I really don't want to break anything and be out both a motherboard, a card, a case, or all three at once. My case is the NZXT Phantom 410 and my mobo is the Gigabyte Z97-X Gaming 7.
Is there anything more I can do? I've been looking forward to this upgrade for months and I'm very eager to get into that 1070 glory. Thank you.
